TOP SINGAPOREAN TRAVEL AGENTS FETED TO LUNCH

travel agents feted at Century Mahkota hotel



BANDA HILIR : About 40 top producing Singaporean travel agents were recently feted to a sumptuous lunch hosted by Century Hotels Malaysia.

The luncheon which was held in the newly opened Century Roxy Park Hotel Singapore was in conjunction with the appreciation award ceremony which is yearly organized by Century Mahkota Hotel Melaka and Century Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

On hand to welcome the agents were general Manager for Century Hotels Malaysia, Robert Atlee, Executive Assistant Manager for Century Hotels Malaysia, Edward Lau, Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing, Andrea Lee, Director of Sales for Century International hotel based in Singapore, Martin Chua and Assistant Director of Sales for Century Mahkota Hotel Melaka, Sharon Chin and Marketing Communications Manager for Century Mahkota, M.S.Bobby.

Robert Atlee in his speech , thanks the agents for their continuous support and business which they have given since the inception of both hotels. Atlee stressed that with the appointment of new Melaka Chief Minister, Datuk Wira Mohd. Ali Rustam, Melaka is now aggressively becoming not only an important tourist destination but also a popular MICE destination.

He urged the travel agents to bring in more groups from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan and other Asian and European countries. He hopes that these tourists that visits Melaka will stay more than one day as the state government is presently organizing several cultural activities to capture the interest of the tourist.
He pointed out that tourist staying in Century Kuala Lumpur can look forward to free and easy shopping as the hotel is ideally located in the famous Bukit Bintang shopping paradise and those staying in Century Mahkota Hotel Melaka will not only look forward to the comfort, but also to the sea, shopping parades and historical sites which are all located within walking distance from the hotel.

Century International Hotels currently manages 21 hotels and resort in seven Asian countries Hong Kong, SAR, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines. Opening in 2001 will be the 140-room Century Samarkand Hotel in Uzbekistan. On the other hand, both hotels will continue to improve its services in terms of upgrading the facilities in the rooms and other outlets. Atlee requested the travel agents to keep giving feed backs on they will be able to accommodated to their guests needs.
